Early models made by companies like Corgi, Dinky. Matchbox and Spot-on can be very sort after.
Although there were many early makers of diecast from before the 2nd World War era through to the 1960’s and the 1970’s these are the brands that stand out for me. These companies made many thousands of different models. Numbers produced and sold, colour variations, conditions of both the model and the box and in some cases the type of box does greatly affect values. Some early Dinky models were sold lose and were therefore unboxed unless you were lucky to have the trade box which often contained six models.
Miniature-Autoworld has purchased many collections of cars, commercial vehicles, public transport, aircraft, emergency and military vehicles. These collection from all over the UK were sometimes all boxed, sometimes unboxed and often a combination of the two. On occasions we purchased one or two models and we have also purchased collections consisting of many hundreds of models. The largest being a collection of over 500 military Dinky models.
With many years’ experience, I am confident of making a fair appraisal of your collection and have proven to be very competitive when compared with auction houses and other dealers.
If you have some models that I have not covered above I would still very much like to hear from you. Part of the enjoyment of this business is learning and investigating.
If you would like me to make you an offer for your collection or if you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
